Finally I looked up into the face of a woman who obviously didn’t realize that much make-up doesn’t cover up the fact that you’re old. She’s coming closer and closer to me practically shouting ‘disabled! disabled! you have to give me your seat!’.

‘WTF is she talking about?’ I thought to myself as I look around at the faces looking down on me. ‘Am I really in a disabled seat… wait, are there disabled seats on subways? It’s only on buses…’

I still haven’t said a word.

‘Do you want to look at my badge?’ she yells as she shoves some plastic wrapped thing in my face. I realize that under her other arm is a long-haired dauchsaund who has the same look on its’ face as I do. I feel bad for it considering it has to live with her, and stand up to let her sit down.

The whole thing pissed me off mainly because if she had simply said, ‘hey, my leg hurts would you mind…’ I would have gladly given up my seat.

On the other hand, you hear all the time that Anderson is gay, and just chooses not to be public about it. So that calls the flirtatious behavior into question.

There was always a little “chemistry” when Erica did her reports from CNN’s Atlanta HQ via satellite. Now that she’s based in NYC, game on girlfriend.

It is very entertaining though. They’re constantly teasing each other and laughing. So it can add a little levity on a boring or depressing night.

As I write this post, I’m discovering new details on the web. Turns out, Erica is married and has a kid, says Wikipedia. So perhaps they are just BFF.

Wall to tall coverage of the Wisconsin primary might have been just a bit too much.  I mean, did it really require nonstop political coverage from 9pm to well after midnight?  I’m gonna go with no.

There were litterally stretches when it seemed like David Gergen and Anderson Cooper were just out of things to talk about.  They started talking about numbers, percentages, point spreads, etc.  Mathematician’s wet dream?  Yes.  Public yawn?  Yes.

It’s the beginning of January and I can’t complain about anything. Today is the third day in a row of really nice weather… and my brain is not comprehending it. I look at the calendar and layer up, only to start stripping when I get outside. (Though in my neighborhood I can make a few bucks)

So, I guess I won’t need my jacket for a few more days…

Let me explain.

About 3 seconds into each of the ‘challenges’ I can feel the blood start pumping through my veins the same way as when I find myself on a subway car that is getting filled up with obnoxious people pushing to get in.

I actually found myself jumping up, cheering on the underdog wondering if I went to the gym 6 days a week for 4 hours a day… how soon could I be talking to Hulk? Don’t worry, I’m WELL on my way.

But first, we have to think about the challenges… quite a few things could be substitutes on this island. ‘Hit and Run’ is very similar to crossing the street, especially at 10th Ave. The average New Yorker deals with ‘The Gauntlet’ a.k.a. subway ride home every night! This is a stretch, but metaphorically we deal with ‘The Wall’ each day at work… someone always trying to pull you down (I know, I know… that’s a weak one)

Here’s the problem though, nothing even comes close to the ‘Eliminator’. Any ideas on how I can train for that?

Anyway, I’m psyched for tomorrow night when we have a new contenders vying to be the next ‘American Gladiator’!

So… it leads me back to my question. Did ANYONE recognize the 20th Anniversary of World AIDS Day on the actual day of?

Jumping the Dem boat in ‘01 helped him in NYC, I guess leaving the Republicans is a good idea in this political climate (especially when Republicans don’t even want the Presidents help campaigning)… and he couldn’t very well go back to the Democrats after dissin’ them… hmm, that just leaves the dubious door number 3. (I guess I can see some resemblence to Perot).
